NEWS/PROJECT UPDATES/PRE-SCREENINGS

SEPT 04
we just finished three screenings in new york, washington, d.c. (fairfax, va), and san francisco. many thanks to all who came out to support the film and gave their valuable feedback.

we also just returned from a week shooting in various locations in nebraska: with corn and soybean farmer doug boisen (who, in addition to sharing his valuable views on modern methods of farming, took us up in a plane for some aerial photography), interviewing several workers at meatpacking plants in omaha, a couple organic farmers at a farmer's market in omaha, a cattle ranch near lincoln, and some incredible landscape shots.

now ramping up for the next round of editing and fundraising...as always, if anyone has funding ideas, please let us know.

JUNE 04
we (director and associate producer) just finished production in india. click here for production stills...

among the more amazing facts we learned: all of the rich farmers in Punjab sell their chemical-heavy crops to the market, while maintaining a seperate, organic plot for themselves and their families! while using chemicals heavily, they say they wouldn't touch the food produced with chemicals.

we had an incredible experience filming in india: heavy and emotional at times (survivors of the 1984 bhopal pesticide factory disaster, and the families of farmers who have committed suicide), joyous and inspirational at others (new organic farmers, excited about what they are doing), tedious at times (translation in five languages).

but it was all enlightening, and we're looking forward to continuing production in the US (midwest and california central valley) in the fall and to starting editing.

the rough-cut intro to the film was shown at the auroville film festival in tamil nadu to an enthusiastic crowd of about 150 people, opening for BOWLING FOR COLUMBINE.

back in november, we had a great fundraiser in london, where we showed IN WHOSE INTEREST?, YOU REAP WHAT YOU SOW, a film by yeastproductions.org.uk, and the rough-cut clip. More than 100 turned out for the films, and djs rubbish and laszlo provided music after.

we are starting plans for fundraising events in washington, dc, new york, boston, san francisco, and los angeles, so check back for updates...
