in the spring of 2001, third stone films' david kaplowitz, cameraman/director dan mckinney and associate producer annelise wunderlich, headed to havana to explore the hip hop scene in that vibrant city.

in a country that's generally perceived to have restricted freedom of speech, how do rappers put forth their form of protest? in a country where the government proclaims there is no racism, why did our crew get stopped by the cops while interviewing afro-cuban rappers? in a world generally dominated by men, how do women make it in the rap scene in havana?
